Center for University Studies on Social Inequality and Governance
Members
The Center for Studies on Social Inequality and Governance at the University of La Laguna (CEDESOG) is a multidisciplinary, inter-university center that, beyond its objectives of research, analysis, and scientific dissemination on studies of social inequality, inequality of opportunity, and intergenerational social mobility, aims to be an interdisciplinary forum on the subject. Here, the convergence of perspectives from disciplines such as economics, sociology, health, psychology, and geography will enhance the understanding of this social phenomenon. The study of inequality (both social and in terms of opportunity) and intergenerational mobility requires a highly multidisciplinary team; from our point of view, this is the only way to understand not only its causes but also its channels of transmission. Therefore, the activities we carry out—and will carry out in the future—will be approached from the perspective of a wide range of fields of knowledge, without any one of them taking precedence over the others.
