Strategies for supporting and continuously improving teaching-learning and transversality in the Faculty of Sciences

Teaching good environmental practices is essential to train citizens prepared to create a sustainable future. The University must lead this path, which is consolidated by the UN's definition of the Sustainable Development Goals within the 2020 Agenda. This project from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of La Laguna focuses on four key areas: Biodiversity, Energy Flows, Internal Sustainability, Education and Sustainable Participation.

The central objective of the project is to integrate students into the development of a Manual of Good Environmental Practices, intended to raise awareness throughout the faculty community and applicable across the University of La Laguna (ULL). We will work as a team, leveraging the skills of each member. To this end, theoretical seminars will be held, led by faculty staff and expert guests. However, the strength of the project lies in its eminently practical and applied component (the "nature classroom"), designed to expand knowledge about the current situation within the Faculty of Sciences regarding these four key areas; identify obstacles to best practices; and propose specific improvement measures to the responsible entities in each case.
