In addition, you have the University Sports Centre right next to the Main Building, with instructors and university teams for athletics, gymnastics, basketball, handball, football, tennis, bodybuilding, volleyball, rugby, and more at your disposal… there's even a golf team. There are also indoor and outdoor sports facilities, tennis courts, multi-purpose courts, martial arts rooms, and a gym…Sports Service)
Coming to university shouldn't just be about attending classes, taking notes, and regurgitating them on exam day. It should also be about fostering friendships with the people who will be your classmates, professors, and other members of your faculty for a few years. How? Through parties, barbecues, sports activities, and so on.
The Tuna It is made up of students who have met the requirements for admission, in accordance with the purest university tradition.
It was founded during the 1977-78 academic year, becoming the second Tuna (student musical group) in the La Laguna district. It has been active for many years, participating in national and international competitions and congresses (held in Murcia, Seville, Cordoba, Zaragoza, Santiago, Caceres, Granada, etc.), as well as regional competitions held in the Canary Islands. Among the various competitions, we can highlight its participation in the 4th Tuna Competition for Technical and Higher Architecture students in March 1991 (winning the award for best flag), the 1st Regional Tuna Competition of Valentine's Day '93 (receiving an honorable mention for performance), the 7th Tuna Competition of the city of La Laguna (winning first prize for tambourine), the National Tuna Competition for Pharmacy students in Seville (winning the award for best flag), and we were invited to the Queima das (bonfires) in Coimbra, Portugal, without competing, which filled us with profound joy…
As you can see, simply carrying out all the activities outlined in the Statutes requires a great deal of effort and dedication, which is why the participation of people with agile minds and an entrepreneurial spirit is essential.
If you are interested in participating directly in any of these organizations, please find out more in person at their premises or by contacting the people in charge.
