A succulent plant, very hairy and often reddish in color. It has an annual to triennial life cycle, dying after flowering and fruiting. The leaves are alternate, more abundant at the branch tips, hairy, with long petioles and a rhomboid blade. The flowers have many petals (8-12) and are yellow, arranged in complex inflorescences at the branch tips. It can grow in rocky areas and on walls (rupicolous habitat) and on well-developed soils. It is endemic to the Canary Islands.
