Bystropogon origanifolius L`Hér.
Pine forest pennyroyal, pennyroyal

A shrub that can reach up to 2 meters in height. Its leaves are opposite, ovate to ovate-lanceolate or elliptical, with a somewhat serrated-crenulate margin, green on the upper surface and whitish on the underside, and emit a minty scent. The small flowers have a white or pinkish corolla and a calyx with very feathery teeth, arranged in highly branched, dichotomous, multi-flowered cymes, giving a more or less globose appearance. It is characteristic of the Canary Island pine forests and is an endemic species of the Canary Islands.
