A woody climbing plant that grows by climbing the trees of the laurel forest to reach the light in their canopies. Its stems are erect to pendulous, highly twisted and woody, but herbaceous in their younger parts. The leaves are alternate, light green, hairy, petiolate, and have an oblong-lanceolate blade with an acute apex and entire margin. The flowers are pinkish-purple, funnel-shaped, and grouped in axillary inflorescences of up to 7 flowers. It is endemic to the Canary Islands.
