Blue tajinaste from Tenerife

The blue tajinaste, endemic to Tenerife, is a species belonging to the group of branched and woody tajinastes. It can reach up to 2 meters in height. Its leaves are narrowly lanceolate to linear and gray in color. Its flowers can vary in color from pink to bluish-purple and are grouped in large inflorescences at the tips of the branches. Its specific epithet “virescens” refers to its ability to resprout after its summer dormancy, which depends on the environmental conditions where it grows.
