Geraniaceae

Geranium reuteri Aedo & Muñoz Garm.

Canary rooster's foot, rooster's foot

This herb is endemic to the Canary Islands. Its leaves, with deeply divided blades, are arranged in a basal rosette on a short stem. They are up to 10 cm in diameter and have long petioles that raise them from the ground, allowing them to hang gracefully. Its medium-sized, pink flowers rise above the leaves and are grouped in showy inflorescences. Its fruit consists of several dispersal units, each containing a single seed, attached to a long central beak.
