Oleaceae

Jasminum odoratissimum L..

Wild jasmine, Canary jasmine

It is a shrub endemic to Macaronesia, which can exceed 4 meters in height. It typically has many branches, which are somewhat brittle, erect at the base, and pendulous towards the tips. The leaves are alternate, compound, trifoliolate, and sometimes pentafite, with entire, dark green leaflets. The yellow flowers are clustered towards the tips, with a long, narrow tube and a limb perpendicular to it. The berry-like fruits are green at first, becoming transparent when ripe, revealing the black seeds inside.
