A small, highly branched shrub, somewhat sticky from the base. Its leaves are opposite and dense at the branch tips, oblanceolate, green, and pubescent on the underside (sometimes slightly fleshy when growing near the sea). Its flowers are very small and inconspicuous, with papery corollas, arranged in head-like spikes in apical clusters. This plant is endemic to the Canary Islands.
