PhD Program in Educational Sciences

Indicators and results of the title

In each of the procedures in the previous section, the associated evidence and indicators are highlighted, along with their coding, identification, format/location in which they are available and the person responsible for them.

It is estimated that around 50 students from master's degrees in the field of Education and other related fields from ULL and ULPGC, as well as from other universities, will enroll in this Doctorate, without prejudice to the possibility of accessing master's degrees from other fields.

Furthermore, the type of assessment carried out in the Training Activities guarantees that the academic results described in the previous indicators will be obtained annually.

The quantitative values indicated in the rates are justified based on the data that the program has reflected by observing the previous doctoral programs in Education at ULL, where the graduation and dropout rates are related to those proposed for the current Doctoral Program in Education Sciences by the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The following definitions were used to calculate these rates:

GRADUATION RATE: (80%) Percentage of students who submit their thesis within the expected time compared to the new students in the cohort of each year (including the exceptional extensions provided for in RD 99/2011).

PROGRAM DROPOUT RATE: (20%) Percentage of doctoral students who during an academic year have neither formalized their enrollment in the doctoral program they are studying nor have defended their thesis, in relation to the total number of doctoral students who could have enrolled again that same year.

Job placement

The Quality Assurance System (SAIC) has specific procedures for collecting information on the employability and job placement of ULL graduates. It primarily uses data obtained from cross-referencing administrative data provided by official bodies with jurisdiction in this area (memberships, job applications, population registers, etc.) and, where applicable, from the results of graduate follow-up conducted through institutional surveys.

The job placement results can be consulted below:
