The Programme expects PhD students to complete a total of 350 hours over four or seven years of stays outside their university of reference, depending on whether they are full-time or part-time students.
The aim is for PhD students to acquire skills related to furthering specific lines of research by attending centres that are experts in these areas, as well as the ability to interact in various academic and research contexts and communicate results in different languages, as well as being able to participate in projects or attend specialised seminars.
For those applying for the international certification, a minimum stay of three months (480 hours) outside of Spain is mandatory. This may be for several stays, provided that at least one of them is for a minimum of one month.
