Basic and Personal Competencies
Doctoral studies will guarantee, as a minimum, the following competences:

CB11 Systematic understanding of a field of study and mastery of the research skills and methods related to that field.
CB12 Ability to conceive, design or create, implement and adopt a substantial research or creation process.
CB13 Ability to contribute to expanding the frontiers of knowledge through original research.
CB14 Ability to perform critical analysis and evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas.
CB15 Ability to communicate with the academic and scientific community and with society in general about their areas of knowledge in the modes and languages commonly used in their international scientific community.
CB16 Ability to promote, in academic and professional contexts, scientific, technological, social, artistic or cultural advancement within a knowledge-based society.
CA01 Operate in contexts where there is little specific information.
CA02 Find the key questions that need to be answered to solve a complex problem.
CA03 Design, create, develop and undertake novel and innovative projects in their field of knowledge.
CA04 Work both as a team and independently in an international or multidisciplinary context.

Other competences
According to RD1027/2011 of July 15, which establishes the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education (MECES).
CMECES1) Have acquired advanced knowledge at the forefront of knowledge and demonstrated, in the context of internationally recognized scientific research, a deep, detailed and well-founded understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects and scientific methodology in one or more research fields.
CMECES2) Have made an original and significant contribution to scientific research in their field of knowledge and this contribution has been recognized as such by the international scientific community.
CMECES3) Have demonstrated that they are capable of designing a research project with which to carry out a critical analysis and evaluation of imprecise situations where they can apply their contributions, knowledge and work methodology to carry out a synthesis of new and complex ideas that
produce a deeper understanding of the research context in which they work.
CMECES4) Have developed sufficient autonomy to initiate, manage and lead innovative research teams and projects and scientific collaborations, national or international, within their thematic scope, in contexts
multidisciplinary and, where appropriate, with a high component of knowledge transfer.
CMECES5) Having shown that they are capable of developing their research activity
with social responsibility and scientific integrity.
CMECES6) Have justified that they are capable of participating in scientific discussions that take place at an international level in their field of knowledge and of disseminating the results of their research activity to all types of audiences).
CMECES7) Have demonstrated within their specific scientific context that they are capable of making advances in cultural, social or technological aspects, as well as promoting innovation in all areas in a society based on
knowledge.
