Tutorial

Mobility

  • Title and description of the activity. Mobility. A stay at other research centers is considered essential.
    for doctoral students. This doctoral program focuses on international recognition and will promote the mobility of doctoral students, taking advantage of the numerous international connections of its professors, membership in European networks, and funding from the Ministry and the various participating universities.
  • 240 hours. It is estimated that each student should complete at least 30 days of stay, valuing 30 x 8 = 240 hours.

  • Mobility activities. This activity is strictly a mobility activity.

Research seminars

  • Name of the activity and description. Research seminars: The research groups will hold Research Seminars in which the PhD students will report on the progress of their research and the status of the same. The researchers of the group will also give lectures on their research or on current research topics.

  • Mobility activities. This activity includes mobility for interuniversity seminars.

Seminars

  • Name of the activity and description. Seminars: The research groups will organize seminars taking advantage of the visit of external researchers. Each university participating in the Doctorate will send information about these seminars to the other universities and the participation of interested students will be encouraged. Seminars given by professors from another participating university will also be organized.

Workshops

  • Name and description of the activity. Workshops: Participation of PhD students in workshops or conferences in their field of interest will be encouraged.
  • Hours 30. It is intended that each student participate in at least one workshop and 8 hours are counted for each day of the workshop's duration and 4 hours if it is half a day.

Academic English

  • Title of the activity and description. Skills for the dissemination and communication of research in the English language: The University of Zaragoza organizes the Academic English course as part of the transversal training. Interuniversity doctoral students belonging to other universities will have access to it. The general objective of the courses is to provide doctoral students with basic tools and skills for academic communication in English in the research context. Its specific objectives are:

Scientific commitment and professional responsibility of the researcher

  • Title and description of the activity. The University of Zaragoza organizes the course "Scientific Commitment and Professional Responsibility of the Researcher" as part of its Transversal Training program. Interuniversity doctoral students from other universities will be eligible. The seminar is conceived as a series of lectures on the relationship between scientific knowledge and the responsibility of the researcher.

Information skills for PhD students

  • Title and description of the activity. The University of Zaragoza organizes the "Information Skills for Doctoral Students" course as part of its Transversal Training program. Interuniversity doctoral students from other universities will be eligible. This course aims to offer doctoral students training complementary to their research activities in the area of information skills and competencies:

  • -‐ assess and evaluate the information
  • -‐ manage information
  • -‐ communicate and disseminate information
  • The training activities will be designed to fit the different areas of knowledge. Using different learning environments, they can be in-person, virtual, or blended, tutored, or self-paced.
  • The content will correspond to the advanced level of information skills: general databases (multidisciplinary, patents, standards, legislation) and specialized databases by macro-area; impact factor and citation indexes; bibliographic managers; scientific publishing (where to publish, copyright, Creative Commons licenses, etc.)
