Postgraduate Specialization Course in Initial Teacher Training

The Postgraduate Specialization Course in Initial Teacher Training (FIP-ULL) is the mandatory initial teacher training offered by the University of La Laguna for Assistant Professors hired under Organic Law 2/2023 of the University System (LOSU). Its purpose is to fulfill the training requirements for the first year of their contract and to facilitate the integration of newly hired faculty into university teaching. It carries 8 ECTS credits and is organized into five subjects taught online, with some synchronous sessions designed to answer questions, foster discussion, and build a community among newly hired faculty. The course addresses essential aspects of university teaching practice: the design and planning of instruction, active learning methodologies, assessment of learning, support for students with specific educational needs, and the processes of evaluation and improvement of degree programs.
