Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences

Competencies

Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for professional activities.

The main objectives emanate from disciplinary learning (1), from specific professional capabilities (2), and from instrumental capabilities (3), since, together, they define the competencies necessary to configure academically trained professionals, with professional and instrumental solvency.

  • (1) Know and understand the disciplinary and interdisciplinary foundations that lead to mastering the object of study.
  • (2) Acquire knowledge and mastery in the design, programming, application and evaluation of specific content.
  • (3) Know how to apply information and communication technologies (ICT) for the collection, analysis of data and creation of content, accrediting security in the treatment of information and communication in professional performance.
  • Develop social skills in interaction and collaborative work, leadership, and acting according to ethical and professional principles.

Taking as reference the recommendations for the proposal by universities of verification reports of the official degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, established by the Agreement of the Council of Universities of September 17, 2018 (published by Resolution of September 18, 2018 of the SGU, BOE of September 20), the objectives of the degree correspond to the competences that students must acquire in the following seven areas of competence (section 2 of Annex I of the Agreement of the Council of Universities):

  • AC_1 Educational intervention.
  • AC_2 Prevention, adaptation and improvement of physical-sports performance and health through physical fitness and physical exercise.
  • AC_3 Promotion of healthy and independent habits through physical activity and sport.
  • AC_4 Intervention through manifestations of human movement.
  • AC_5 Planning, evaluation and management-organization of resources and physical activity and sport.
  • AC_6 Method and scientific evidence in practice.
  • AC_7 Performance, ethics and professional practice in the context of interventions.

Each subject in the curriculum develops learning outcomes by associating them with their field of study. Thus, upon successful completion of this degree, students should be able to:
