External placements in the Philology Department's degree programs provide a significant educational complement, giving students initial experience in the professional world. In the English Studies degree program, there are two external placement courses, each consisting of... 6 ECTS, which take place in the second semester (from February to July, both inclusive), which means 220 hours of stay at the assigned center for the student.
Students will join the workplace on the agreed date and will carry out the training plan, in the hours previously agreed with the entity, in accordance with the work guidelines included in the training contract.
Throughout the course, students will be assisted by an academic tutor and an external tutor for each subject. The academic tutor will ensure the smooth running of the internships and that the activities assigned to the students by the host organization align with the training program. The external tutor will be responsible for welcoming students, organizing activities, and informing them about the organization's operations and characteristics. They will also supervise student activities and coordinate with the academic tutor the implementation of the activities outlined in the training program.
At the end of the internship, the students must prepare and submit to the academic tutor a final report of the work developed.
