Support and guidance

Each academic year, ULL centers implement Guidance and Tutorial Action Plans (POAT) for their degree programs to provide students with support and guidance systems once they enroll.
The training activities included in the POAT address various topics that aim to facilitate students' academic and professional decision-making at different stages (welcome and integration into the center and university, guidance throughout the degree and incorporation into the labor market), allowing them to successfully complete the degree and adapt to new demands: autonomous learning strategies, teamwork, improvement of academic performance results, resolution of difficulties, information and advice on external internships and final degree projects, guidance on existing mobility programs, demands and characteristics of the labor market, etc.
By enrolling at the ULL, first-year students can participate in their school's POAT, benefiting from:

  • The training and information activities provided throughout the degree.
  • Advice from a tutor-teacher, who will support you in your intellectual, academic, and professional pursuits.

Organization of the POAT

The Orientation and Tutorial Action Plan (POAT) of the Philosophy Section of the Faculty of Humanities at the ULL consists of two parts: training and orientation activities, and career mentoring.

Career mentoring: Career mentoring will be provided by the POAT faculty tutors to advise and monitor the students' learning process. This type of mentoring is aimed at students from the beginning of their studies until they complete them. It is provided on an individualized basis.

Activities: son acciones de diverso tipo y formato dirigidas a abordar distintas temáticas formativas, así como a informar y orientar al alumnado en relación con su formación y posibilidades laborales, becas, estudios de postgrado, prácticas externas, movilidad; los recursos e instrumentos que ofrecen la Sección, el Centro y la Universidad; las posibilidades de participación estudiantil en los órganos de gobierno y en otras actividades; las gestiones administrativas que debe realizar, etc. Este tipo de actividades va dirigido al estudiantado desde que inicia sus estudios hasta que los culminan. Se desarrolla en grandes grupos.

To achieve this, the Section prepares a POAT for each academic year. The plan includes the following sections:

a) The details of the tutor teacher who will be in charge of the new students and the dates of the first contacts.

b) Orientation Activities:

  1. Reception: Open House Days, Welcome Days, etc.
  2. Follow-up: dates and leaders of information sessions about mobility programs, internships, final degree projects, etc.
  3. Activities: dates and people in charge of the activities carried out.
