Internships

The external practices will be governed by the Regulations for external internships at the University of La LagunaIn addition, the Physics Section, in its Internal Quality Assurance System, includes the procedure for quality assurance of external internships integrated into the PEGF (Section 9.3.1).

Internships are an educational activity carried out by university students, offered and supervised by the University of La Laguna, whose objective is to allow students to apply the knowledge acquired in their academic training in experience in workplaces, thus promoting the acquisition of skills in the field of professional activities and facilitating their employability.

1. The ECTS credit for external internships is equivalent to 25 hours of student activity.
2. They may be carried out in companies, entities, organizations and institutions external to the University itself, according to the planned modality.
3. They may also be carried out in any department or service of the University of La Laguna that does not depend on the Physics Section.
4. Given the strictly formative nature of external internships, no obligations inherent to an employment contract will arise under any circumstances.

External internships for the Degree in Physics are mandatory and worth 12 ECTS credits.

The criteria for assigning entities to students comply with the Regulations for the management of external internships for ULL students and are shown below in order of priority:

1. Students applying for curricular internships versus extracurricular internships
2. Students with disabilities
3. Students with the highest score obtained after weighting the number of credits passed and the average grade by 50%.
