The University of La Laguna, through its Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation, promotes awareness of global inequalities and the challenges of sustainable development, seeking to develop critical, participatory, and committed citizens, promoting fundamental values such as social justice, equity, democracy, and the common good.

The creation of alliances with other universities for the development of priority areas, which will contribute to the consolidation of professionals and local development agents in partner countries and in international research teams.

Promoting cooperation with other social institutions to identify needs and achieve joint solutions.
Within this framework, with funding from the Tenerife Island Council's Directorate of Foreign Affairs, the ULL is developing the "Cooperar-cooperando" project, which includes two aspects:
Carrying out training, awareness-raising and educational activities for global development and cooperation, a transversal content that contributes to the comprehensive training of students and to research (as a consequence of the training) oriented towards sustainable development and direct participation in social profile initiatives.
Within the International Mobility Plan for ULL students, the program aims to carry out internships (curricular and extracurricular) and carry out development cooperation work in countries with a medium-low human development index and with which the ULL has cooperation agreements. The objectives include:
Promote solidarity and the values of development cooperation among the university community.
