Master's Degree in Biomedicine

The Postgraduate Program of the University of La Laguna offers quality training at Master's and Doctorate levels in Biomedicine and Biotechnology, consisting of the Degrees "University Master's Degree in Biomedicine" and "Doctorate in Health Sciences." The essential objectives are the initiation of a teaching and research career in biosciences, as well as the training of professionals for activity in public and private institutions related to molecular diagnosis, biotechnological development and biomedical innovation.

Purpose of the Master's Degree

  • Expand scientific knowledge and contribute to the resolution of social and economic problems
  • To train researchers who know and respect the procedures of the scientific method, capable of planning and competently executing research tasks, interpreting their results and drawing conclusions.
  • Develop the ability to use current techniques in research fields related to Biomedicine
  • To train professionals who are experts in molecular biology analytical techniques and their biomedical and/or biotechnological applications
  • To offer a continuation path towards predoctoral training and access to Doctoral Programs in Health Sciences
  • To offer multidisciplinary training in areas of knowledge related to Biomedicine

Who is it for?

  • The admission profile is based on the knowledge, skills and abilities of the students who access the degree. The Master's Degree in Biomedicine will allow access to graduates who comply with the provisions of art. 16 of RD 1393/2007 and who also have the required level B1 of English.
  • This Master's Degree is aimed at graduates in Biology, Medical Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science and Technology, Nursing, Physics, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Chemistry and Psychology.

What career opportunities are available?

  • Graduates of the master's degree will be experts in molecular biology analytical techniques and in their biomedical and/or biotechnological applications. They will be able to use current techniques in research fields related to biomedicine, which will allow them to join research tasks in laboratories in both public and private centers.
