Competencies

Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for the exercise of professional activities.

Basic Competencies

CB6 – Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity for originality in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context

CB7 – That students know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their problem-solving skills in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.

CB8 – That students are able to integrate knowledge and face the complexity of formulating judgments based on information that, although incomplete or limited, includes reflections on the social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.

CB9 – That students know how to communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that support them to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous way

CB10 – Students will have the learning skills to enable them to continue studying in a manner that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

General Competencies

CG1 – Be able to direct and manage tourism companies, activities or organizations

CG2 – Be able to plan tourist activities and destinations, taking into account the socio-economic and environmental environment

Specific Competencies

1 – Be able to use knowledge about the characteristics and trends of tourism supply and demand to analyze specific destinations.

2 – That students are able to apply advanced statistical techniques and qualitative social research techniques to prepare reports related to the tourism system.

3 – That students are able to plan, coordinate and support the decision-making process in companies and institutions linked to the tourism sector

4 – Students will be able to analyze the sustainability of a destination, based on existing indicators and tools, integrating economic, sociocultural, and environmental perspectives.

5 – That students are able to propose actions that contribute to increasing the sustainability of a destination

6 – That students are able to apply the knowledge acquired in companies or institutions linked to the tourism sector

7 – That students are able to apply economic and financial management techniques for tourism exploitation

8 – That students are able to apply knowledge and methodological and technical procedures to carry out an innovative research project or an innovative business plan in the field of tourism.

9 – That students know how to analyze the impact of public planning and management policies

10 – That students know how to apply knowledge to create new tourism products, valuing innovation in
technical and organizational processes, as well as the search for balance in the tourist destination
