The two new lists are those of Students in Defense of the Faculty of Education (EDFE), with 33 members; and Agora, with 16 students.

In the Technical, Management, and Administrative and Services Staff sector, two lists that were present in the last Senate election are running again: Grupo, which this time has 19 candidates; and PAS en Acción, with 9 candidates. The new list running is Compas, made up of 24 candidates.

In both faculty sectors, there are two slates of candidates. One of them, the Alternative Faculty Program, currently has representation, while the second, Avanza, is a newly formed group. In the tenured faculty sector, the Alternative Faculty Program has a list of 161 candidates, and Avanza has one with 76. In the non-tenured or non-permanent faculty sector, the Alternative Faculty Program has 68 candidates, while Avanza has 49.

Once the candidates were announced, the election campaign period began and will run until Tuesday, December 3. After the mandatory day of reflection, the online vote will take place on December 5, in which a census of 23,076 people from the four groups will elect the 250 representatives to the University Senate: 128 from tenured professors with doctorates, 22 from tenured professors without doctorates or with temporary appointments; 75 from the student body, and 25 from the administrative and service staff.

The General Electoral Commission has also published the instructions for developing the election campaign, These guidelines specify the locations for posting flyers and stipulate that all proposed promotional activities must be authorized by the relevant Administration or the Deans and Directors of the relevant departments. They also establish a randomly selected day on which each candidate may send a mass email to their target audience. The university has allocated €400 in funding for each candidate.
