The Minister of Public Administration, Justice and Security, Julio Pérez, held a meeting this week with the Rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco García, in which they analyzed the agreements signed between both institutions and the situation in which some entities such as the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a technical body dependent on the Canary Islands Government, and the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences, attached to the Ministry of Justice, located in the so-called Health Campus of the university center.
During the meeting, held at the Rectorate, Julio Pérez and Francisco García expressed their willingness to intensify their collaboration, for example, in the agreement signed between the Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), the Ministry of Justice and the University of La Laguna, so that students of this higher education center can carry out external internships in courts and tribunals, and, in this way, complement the knowledge acquired in the classrooms.
In this regard, they have stated that they will study the possibility of installing a courtroom at the University of La Laguna, identical to the one set up in the courthouses, for the practical training of university students.
They also discussed the cooperation agreement signed a year ago with the aim of improving human resources policies and the shared use of reserve lists established by both administrations for the appointment of interim civil servants.
Both have shown their willingness to continue collaborating, both on the matters they have been doing up to this point and on those that may arise from now on and that may benefit the services they provide to the public.
