The Higher School of Engineering and Technology of the University of La Laguna will host a new edition of its Engineering Technical Conference. This open house event aims primarily to connect the professional world with students currently pursuing degrees in technical fields, including areas of particular interest such as research and entrepreneurship. This event, which runs until Wednesday, February 7th, is free and open to anyone interested.
The opening ceremony for these sessions will take place at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow in the School's Auditorium, located on the 3rd floor, with the inauguration presided over by Francisco García, rector of the academic institution, along with Leopoldo Acosta, director of ESIT, and the presence of different representatives of public institutions of the archipelago: Ciro Gutiérrez, deputy minister of Universities and Research of the Government of the Canary Islands; Manuel Fernández, island councilor of Industry, Commerce, Primary Sector and Animal Welfare of the Cabildo of Tenerife; and Serafín Mesa, chief executive of Training and Youth of the Cabildo of Tenerife.
This year, more than 60 companies from the industrial and technological sectors will participate in these events, which combine efforts to ensure students acquire all the necessary information about the world of work. This will be achieved through various stands where companies can showcase their activities and help attract young talent, while attendees can make new contacts and learn about job opportunities.
During the two days of the event, students will also be able to participate in different activities such as raffles and contests, as well as attend talks on various topics of interest such as the presentation of cutting-edge technological projects that are being developed in the Canary Islands.
