Volunteering Fuerteventura in the spotlight
Volunteers will participate in activities linked to various training initiatives on the island, where they will collaborate in promoting community participation, fostering and developing community action groups, conducting a community needs assessment, creating a local action plan, and generating and exchanging knowledge with local and island-wide impact. These social volunteering activities are based on Citizen Science and Service Learning.
Sports volunteering with the ULL Sports Service 2026
If you're passionate about sports and want to contribute to university life, this volunteer opportunity will allow you to collaborate in organizing activities, competitions, and events for the ULL Sports Service. You'll also participate in providing information and support to the university community, assist with healthy breaks in various campus spaces, and help promote the values of sport through different outreach activities.
Sports volunteering with the ULL Sports Service
In the sports volunteering program of the ULL Sports Service, you can actively collaborate in the different activities that take place, such as: offering information about the services provided, offering guided tours, helping in workshops, competitions and sports events, preparing and placing materials, registering attendance or results, enforcing the regulations and guiding the participants, distributing information about important values in sports and accompanying the sports technical staff who give the healthy breaks in libraries and other spaces of the ULL, collaborating in the promotion, distribution of fruit and material, registration of data and taking photos, among other things.
Volunteering Environmental Awareness: Whale Watching
Environmental Awareness Volunteering: Whale Watching. This activity will consist of two hours of training on Thursday, November 7th (from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM) about whales, turtles, and shearwaters. All awareness activities within the volunteer program require this training. On Friday, November 8th, there will be a morning bus trip to Los Realejos for whale watching from land. A shearwater will be released (if available), and training and guidelines will be provided on the safe handling of this species in its natural habitat.
Volunteering Monumental Trees and Urban Birds
The activity consists of an online forum, made up of several experts such as Professor Victoria Eugenia Martín Osorio and the SEO Birdlife association, which will take place on Thursday, April 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on the other hand, a recognition itinerary of the monumental dragon trees and observation of urban birds through the town center of La Laguna on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
STEAM FUTURE 2026
The Tenerife Island Council, through the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), is holding the STEAM Future project presentation event on May 21, 2026, at the Tenerife Auditorium, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The STEAM Future project focuses on the transformative role of technology through the ideation and development of functional technological prototypes built in classrooms with the participation of children and young people, as well as active and innovative adults, aware of their creative potential and their commitment to local development. During the fair-style event, more than 60 projects will be presented, and an attendance of at least 1,500 people is expected throughout the day.
STEAM FUTURE 2025
The Tenerife Island Council, through the Tenerife Science and Technology Park and the Government of the Canary Islands, is organizing STEAM FUTURE 2024/2025. Its objective is to promote projects that contribute to the acquisition of skills and competencies for innovation, foster an entrepreneurial attitude, collaborative learning, and teamwork. In this way, it addresses the need to adapt education to the dynamism of current challenges, preparing more active and innovative children, young people, and adults who are aware of themselves and their island reality and how they can contribute to society as agents of change through the development of their chosen profession. Participants will carry out activities related to supporting, organizing, guiding, and monitoring teams, evaluating projects, and performing tasks during the tournament. Training sessions and information meetings will be held to facilitate the fulfillment of assigned roles.
Guided bike tour of La Laguna
This environmental volunteering activity consists of a bike tour through the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, in collaboration with Tenerife por la Bici, to promote sustainable mobility and respect for the environment. The activity includes a guided tour led by a historian and local expert, who will explain the city's natural and cultural heritage, promoting the use of bicycles as an ecological, healthy, and sustainable mode of transportation. It will take place on Saturday, November 8th, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Space is limited to 15 bicycles.
Linguistic Project for teaching Spanish to migrants – 2026
The activity consists of assisting teachers who lead classes with specific groups, recording attendance, and organizing school materials; supporting occasional academic and recreational activities organized by the project or related groups outside of the classroom; and, when necessary, leading class sessions in the event of the teacher's absence or illness. It also involves accompanying migrant students to the classrooms using designated transportation.

European Project Contested Territories
The international meeting is structured as a dialogue between representatives from Latin American and European universities and social and environmental groups from the Canary Islands. The event is part of the European project "Contested Territories: From Contested Territories to Alternatives of Development: Learning from Latin America," which focuses on exploring how grassroots groups in Latin America and other peripheral territories, as well as the perspectives of Indigenous peoples, contribute to shaping the connection between humanity and the environment. The event will take place from October 27 to 31 in the Lecture Hall on the first floor of the César Manrique Building on the Guajara Campus of the University of La Laguna (ULL).
La Laguna by Bike
This volunteer activity is offered by the University of La Laguna in collaboration with Tenerife por la Bici (Tenerife by Bike). It's a sustainable mobility activity within the municipality of La Laguna, taking place on Saturday, May 17th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Tenerife por la Bici will provide 14 bicycles for the activity. However, the activity is open to more people who have their own bicycles.
Together in the same direction
Together in the Same Direction is a volunteer initiative that invites people to participate in building more inclusive and cohesive communities. Volunteers will collaborate in organizing and facilitating community activities, raising awareness about intercultural coexistence, organizing participatory events, and promoting and communicating the project. They will also support the welcoming and accompaniment of participants, helping to promote dialogue, civic engagement, and respect for diversity from a human rights perspective.
FIRST® LEGO® League Canarias 2026
The Tenerife Island Council, through the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), is organizing the FIRST® LEGO® League Canarias (FLL) regional tournament. This year, the event is being held in collaboration with FLL Spain through Ingeniera Soy and the University of La Laguna. FLL is a renowned international program that promotes experiential learning in science and technology among children and young people aged 5 to 16. Volunteers will participate in activities related to supporting, organizing, guiding, and monitoring teams, evaluating projects, and other tasks during the tournament. Training sessions and informational meetings will be held to facilitate the fulfillment of assigned roles.
School Cooperatives Fair – Teaching to Entrepreneurship Project – Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Volunteering for the School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project involves supporting activities and actions related to the fair, such as welcoming students, helping to set up and prepare each assigned school's stand, accompanying students in scheduled activities, and putting up and taking down posters, tablecloths, and other supplies. The School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project will take place in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the Alameda del Duque Santa Elena, on Tuesday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project will take place in the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna on Tuesday, May 19th, in Plaza del Adelantado, Calle Viana, and Calle Obispo Rey Redondo, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Volunteering for the School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project involves supporting activities and actions related to the fair, such as welcoming students, helping to set up and prepare each assigned school's stand, accompanying students in scheduled activities, and putting up and taking down posters, tablecloths, and other supplies. The School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project will take place in the Municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in García Sanabria Park, on Thursday, June 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
School Cooperatives Fair – «Teaching to Undertake» Project (EPE) – Arona
Volunteering for the School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project involves supporting activities and actions related to the fair, such as welcoming students, helping to set up and prepare each assigned school's stand, accompanying students in scheduled activities, and putting up and taking down posters, tablecloths, and other supplies. The School Cooperatives Fair of the "Teaching to Learn" Project will take place in the municipality of Arona, in the plaza of the Los Cristianos Cultural Center, on Tuesday, May 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In search of the lost chuchanga II: Canaridiscus Engonatus. Biomarathon of photo-identification of species
A solidarity and educational walk will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in search of the Canaridiscus engonatus, a terrestrial gastropod lost for over a hundred years and believed to still inhabit the Taborno/Las Carboneras area. This citizen science activity will include a photo-identification marathon of species, as well as the recording of images and sounds to create podcasts and reports on biodiversity.
World Water Day. Groundwater
This is an environmental volunteering activity. The first part will consist of a talk on Thursday, March 19th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, which will be held online. The second part will take place on Friday, March 20th, at 9:00 AM, and will involve collecting waste and removing exotic species from the Los Berros Ravine.
Leave your mark at the University of La Laguna
"Leave Your Mark" is an initiative now in its second year, designed to engage the university community and the general public in the green spaces of the University of La Laguna and foster a connection between these areas and the people who participate. The activity will involve planting tree, shrub, and herbaceous species native to the island of Tenerife. It offers an introduction to the unique biodiversity of the Canary Islands as a volcanic archipelago and, at the same time, a connection to the green spaces that make up the University of La Laguna. It will take place in the Canary Garden on the University of La Laguna's Central Campus, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Share your wings
A compatible donor is urgently needed for Alma, a young girl from Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma) who suffers from a blood disorder and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant. Her family has made a public appeal for "a gift of solidarity in the form of a blood sample." To participate, interested individuals must be between 18 and 40 years old, in good health, and willing to donate stem cells. The registration process is simple and begins with a blood sample to determine compatibility.
Campustaje-ULL. University Composting
Join the community of care workers who promote the source separation of compostable biowaste at the University of La Laguna (ULL) to transform it into valuable nutrients for our soil (gardens, university vegetable gardens, and distribution among participants). This is achieved through theoretical and practical training in the circular economy and on-site community composting. This initiative avoids emissions associated with waste transportation and landfilling. It is an activity open to all fields of study. Participants will acquire technical, communication, group facilitation, and socio-environmental education skills, among others.
Invisible Student Solidarity Association, University of La Laguna
Among the actions to be carried out are the organization of events and activities to raise awareness and visibility of homelessness in the territory, the creation of content for social networks about homelessness and its community, and all those activities or events, such as collections of food, household goods, donations, etc., which in collaboration with other entities on the island, improve the quality of life of those people who live in extremely poor conditions in the Canary Islands.
Invisible Student Solidarity Association, University of La Laguna
The Invisibles Student Solidarity Association of the University of La Laguna is an organization whose objective is to raise awareness, give visibility to, and advocate for the homeless on the island of Tenerife. The actions carried out to develop this solidarity work will be those proposed by the volunteer team that could be beneficial in achieving the stated objectives: talks, debates, workshops, research, etc.
Environmental awareness activity on microplastics and plastic formations
The environmental awareness activity on microplastics and new types of plastic formations is part of the "Sowing Change" project. Its aim is to attract those interested in marine pollution to a theoretical and practical activity where the primary objective is cleaning the beach and raising awareness about the problem of microplastics at Playa Grande through waste collection.
Volunteering at San Juan de Dios Hospital
The aim of this volunteer program is to identify and address the needs of vulnerable groups and individuals at risk of social exclusion, both in our immediate surroundings and in other parts of the world where basic healthcare needs require support and collaboration. To achieve this, we mobilize all available resources. Currently, the program focuses on providing companionship to people experiencing unwanted loneliness. Tenerife by bike
Would you like to volunteer as a driver for the tricycle that transports people with reduced mobility and other disabilities who, for this reason, rarely leave their residences? During these outings, the volunteer driver engages in conversation with the passengers, aiming to enrich the active aging experience for seniors and/or people with reduced mobility, or to provide stimulation for people with other abilities. Both the outing itself and the use of conversation provide significant encouragement to people with limited opportunities to "set foot outside.".
Guata Project
Volunteers in this activity will be able to support the activities of our day centers or cognitive stimulation units or the activities developed by our social action projects, all of which are aimed at caring for people with dependency, Alzheimer's and other dementias and their families.
Starmus Festival
Join the Starmus Festival volunteer team, an international event that brings together Nobel laureates, astronauts, scientists, artists, and music legends to connect science and art with the public. Volunteers will assist attendees, accompany speakers and artists, support the media, and help organize the festival's various spaces and activities. This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the world's largest science outreach events firsthand and contribute to the success of this internationally renowned event. The volunteer program runs from October 17th to 25th, 2026. The activity will take place at Plaza Candelaria in Santa Cruz, the MAGMA Auditorium, and other venues hosting Starmus.
Spanish Red Cross – Harm reduction and proper risk management for the daily challenges faced by homeless people
The actions defined in this volunteer activity include a comprehensive intervention: facilitating the coverage of basic and urgent needs (food, hygiene), providing different alternatives that allow them to reduce their stay on the street (accommodation in shelters, housing assistance, etc.), promoting health and self-care, as well as strengthening the restoration of their family and/or social network to overcome the social isolation that surrounds them.
Spanish Red Cross – Promoting School Success for Children in Difficulty
This initiative falls under the category of “Social Intervention and Inclusion.” It includes activities related to work with children and young people at risk and in conflict with the law, preventative educational actions to combat violence, and addressing the challenges of youth employment by providing information and career guidance. It also works with children facing social difficulties to improve their quality of life through recreational and educational activities. The “Promoting Academic Success for Children in Socially Difficult Situations” program aims to increase the academic success of these children by focusing on the personal and social factors that contribute to it.
Spanish Red Cross – Complementary home care to reduce unwanted loneliness in older people
Through this volunteer activity, the Red Cross aims to reduce unwanted loneliness among people over 65 by providing in-person or online companionship. This initiative seeks to improve the social development and quality of life of these individuals during the aging process.
Red Cross – Emotional support at the end of life
This project is run by the Red Cross on the island of Tenerife and is part of the "Comprehensive Care for People with Advanced Illnesses" program of the "La Caixa" Foundation. This program supports people with advanced chronic illnesses who suffer from unwanted loneliness, isolation, and/or a lack of personal autonomy. The project fosters interpersonal interaction through volunteers, who provide companionship, facilitate errands, and assist with daily routines that differ from those offered by home care professionals. This includes accompanying them to medical appointments, taking them for walks outdoors, and providing support at home if they are unable to leave.
ACANAE VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT (Canary Islands Association Against School Bullying)
Among the activities to be developed within the association are: active participation in the creation of content for social networks in order to raise awareness and disseminate information about school bullying and its consequences; and collaboration in talks and workshops developed in schools, institutes and specialized centers, being able to attend as a companion or speaker.

+Familia is a non-profit organization made up of social work professionals who have come together to promote the positive development of families and young people from vulnerable groups. We provide support to young families, psychological intervention, mediation in complex situations, and psycho-emotional support to our beneficiaries. We also have a community outreach area, which focuses on initiatives related to the care of individuals and spaces, such as childcare, networking, and support in the organization and management of the organization. Finally, we have an awareness-raising area where we work to publicize the organization's work through workshops and training sessions, participation in events and meetings, and by sharing our activities through our social media channels. Activities with children, teenagers and their families
This volunteer activity focuses primarily on working with children between the ages of 6 and 12, as well as their families and adults of different ages. It provides a space and resources for children to improve their study habits and promotes healthy leisure activities through playful, emotionally and socially engaged learning. Additionally, it works with their families and other adult groups, conducting workshops, activities, and other initiatives to support their personal, social, and family development.
