Quality Assurance is a fundamental aim of university policy and a cornerstone upon which other essential quality criteria for the verification and accreditation of official degree programs are based, in accordance with the provisions of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). In this context, student guidance and mentoring become a necessity and a key element of quality, as reflected in national (AUDIT program, VERIFICA program, and DOCENTIA program, of the Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation) and regional (Protocol for Monitoring Official Degree Programs) regulations and quality assessment programs.

The specific objectives that are intended to be achieved through the POAT refer to the acquisition, by the student, of those skills whose achievement is linked to guidance and tutorial action, as well as to addressing and overcoming the difficulties that the Center, through its Center Quality Commission (CCC), have detected for the appropriate curricular progress of the students.

Tutoring is structured according to the following dimensions:

  • Career Tutoring. This takes place at the degree level. Career tutoring can be defined as the role of a professor who is dedicated to the comprehensive development of a small group of students throughout their studies. Its purpose is to contribute to the students' holistic development by continuously monitoring and optimizing their learning process and promoting independent learning, research, and professional practice. It is offered to students from the beginning of their studies until graduation.
  • Guidance Activities. These are carried out at the school level. This dimension addresses students' needs related to information (information guide, consultations on course equivalencies, courses, financial aid) and supplementary training (courses, workshops for students).
