Guidance and Tutoring

Guidance and tutoring plan

Each academic year, the ULL centers implement the Guidance and Tutorial Action Plans (POAT) to be developed in their degree programs to provide students with support and guidance systems once enrolled.

The training activities included in the POAT address various topics through which it aims to facilitate students' academic and professional decision-making at different stages (reception and integration into the center and university, guidance throughout the degree and for their entry into the labor market), enabling them to successfully complete the degree and adapt to new demands: autonomous learning strategies, teamwork, improvement of academic performance results, resolution of difficulties, information and advice on external internships and final degree projects, guidance on existing mobility programs, demands and characteristics of the labor market, etc.

By being enrolled at ULL, students of the degree program can participate in the POAT of their center, benefiting from:

  • The training and information activities provided throughout the degree program.
  • The guidance of the faculty tutor, who will support you in your intellectual, academic and professional concerns.
  • Its recognition in ECTS credits – 1 per academic year – as set out in the Regulations for the Recognition of Credits for Participation in University Activities in Official Undergraduate Studies.

Career Tutors

Academic mentoring, or career guidance, can be defined as the work carried out by a professor who is concerned with the holistic development of a group of students throughout their studies. The Faculty of Fine Arts' career mentoring program is primarily aimed at addressing a series of priority areas related to student guidance and academic development.

Actions, activities and time planning

The POAT (Program for Academic and Professional Development) is structured around a sequence of actions following a logical framework, aligned with the phases of reception, follow-up, and career guidance, for each year of undergraduate studies at the center. This framework is based on the objectives, needs, and demands for information, training, and guidance from students. These activities will be conducted in large groups, small groups, or through seminars and individual tutorials, and may be carried out in person or virtually (virtual classrooms, email, chat, etc.). Information is disseminated through public information procedures, and any other appropriate channels will also be used to communicate guidance and tutoring activities, such as notice boards, emails, and social media.
