Equality

The Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism is committed to Sustainable Development Goal 5 of the 2030 Agenda: «SDG 5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.» It is the only faculty with a Vice-Dean's Office for Equality, which addresses various initiatives to promote SDG 5, making it a pioneer at the University of La Laguna in this area. In particular, since 2020, the FEET Equality Commission has organized the Women and the Economy Conference, now in its third edition, with the following objectives:

  • To make visible the women economists of history and the professionals of our present day.
  • Diversify and increase the number of female role models available to our teachers and students.
  • To familiarize ourselves with the concepts related to Gender Equality and to encourage reflection based on the figures and statistics that highlight the position of women in different areas, at all levels.
  • To encourage reasoned debate on the causes and consequences of gender inequality.
