Olea cerasiformis

It is the wild olive tree, an endemic species of the Canary Islands that can grow up to 8 meters tall. Its main trunk branches heavily, and from its twigs emerge narrowly lanceolate leaves, bright green on the upper surface and grayish-white on the underside, arranged oppositely. Its fruits are small olives, initially light green, turning reddish, and then black when ripe. The saying "There's no stick that can fight the wild olive" highlights the value this tree held for its hard wood.
