Although we refer to it as a composting area, no composting is carried out in this park, as this task is performed by the soil organisms. The approach is to return organic matter to the cycle, circulating it within the garden. Only pieces of wood too thick to be chipped are returned to the soil without being transformed. These pieces, like the chipped ones, will eventually reintegrate into the soil and nourish the garden, although due to their size, they will require more time to compost.
