ZONE 9. BIRD GARDEN

The plot was selected in October 2017 with the aim of showcasing a series of plants whose floral characteristics (striking coloration and nectar production) favor their pollination by birds. Among those species already planted Navaea phoeniceaEchium virescensCanarina canariensis y Digitalis canariensis. Likewise, there are also others whose fruits are consumed by birds that participate in the seed dispersal; This is the case of Rhamnus glandulosaMorella faya,  Apollonias barbujana, etc.

In addition, feeders and waterers have been installed to attract birds to the plot and facilitate birdwatching. Most of the birds that nest or occasionally visit the entire university campus can be seen in the area. Among the most common are the following:
