The Doctoral Programme in Health Sciences at the University of La Laguna, verified by ANECA according to the resolution of 19-3-2014, offers 40 places per academic year in research lines in which the ULL has obvious strengths. 10% of the places offered are preferably intended for students from developing countries, and another 10% for those who have applied for a research training grant and are waiting for the resolution at the time of registration. Students may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis. Biomedicine is one of the strategic areas of the ULL, included in the RIS 3 plan of the Government of the Canary Islands. In relation to these data, the objectives of the Programme are: To train and professionally develop Doctors in Basic and/or Clinical Science, whose graduation comes from Health Sciences and/or Life Sciences. To generate researchers both within the National Health Training System (BIR, EIR, FIR, MIR, PIR, QIR) and within the University Teaching and Research Staff or those assigned to the biotechnology industry. And to promote the employment of highly qualified personnel in an area of great social demand and technological innovation.
