Management and development of projects in digitalization and digital transformation strategies

Overview

To train students in the planning, management and evaluation of innovation projects related to digitalization and digital transformation in transport and logistics, applying agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or Design Thinking, and developing projects and plans that increase the efficiency, competitiveness and adaptability of companies in the sector.

Goals

To train students in the competence of planning, managing and evaluating innovation projects linked to digitalization and digital transformation in transport and logistics organizations, selecting and applying agile methodologies (scrum, Kanban, design thinking) and developing transformation projects and plans that improve the efficiency, competitiveness and adaptability of companies in the sector.

Access requirements

A university degree is not required, but the following requirements must be met:

  • Be between 25 and 64 years old on the date the training begins.
  • To hold an official Spanish Baccalaureate degree or equivalent professional certificate, or other equivalent qualification issued by an institution of a Member State of the European Education Area.
  • Individuals with a degree from an educational system outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) may also be admitted, even without official recognition or equivalence. In these cases, the academic director will submit a report to the Academic Committee, which will authorize or deny admission. This authorization does not imply official recognition of the foreign degree or its validation for any other purpose.
  • Have a National Identity Document or equivalent document that proves residence permit in Spain, at least during the period in which the microcredential is developed.
  • Admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis until the maximum number of places is reached. If places remain vacant after the pre-registration period, the micro-credential management may open an extraordinary pre-registration period, setting a deadline as it deems appropriate. Priority will be given to students who have completed the following micro-credentials: Fundamentals of Digitalization and Digital Transformation, Emerging Technologies and Digital Business Models for Logistics and Transport, Smart Mobility and Connectivity in Transport and Logistics, and/or Transport and Logistics 4.0.

Academic program

Contents

The micro-credential guides students from understanding agile methodologies to developing innovation projects and digital transformation plans adapted to transport and logistics organizations.

  1. Agile methodologies: scrum, Kanban, design thinking. Agile principles and frameworks applied to digitization projects; team organization, task definition, iterations, and continuous improvement.
  2. Development of innovation projects. Identifying needs and challenges in organizations in the sector; formulating objectives, scope, resources and schedule; using digital tools to document and track projects.
  3. Development of transformation plans. Analysis of the starting point and digital diagnosis of the organization; definition of a digital transformation roadmap (phases, milestones, priorities); integration of projects into the company's digitalization strategy.

Methodology and activities

Regarding the way to organize the teaching to achieve the objectives set out in the micro-credential, the organizational modality summarized below will be followed:

  • Lectures/expository method: presentation or explanation by the teaching staff.
  • Seminars: completing exercises, solving problems or practical cases, others.
  • Individual work: individual preparation of assignments/projects/reports, portfolio, …
  • Personal study: preparation for tests, exams, etc.
  • Personal study: preparation for tests, exams, etc.

Evaluation criteria

The microcredential will have an evaluation system (ES) based on the following assessment tests:

  • Objective tests (true/false, multiple choice, test-type, fill-in-the-blank, ordering, etc.): These are measurement instruments that allow for the evaluation of knowledge, skills, performance, aptitudes, etc. The answers are closed-ended, thus promoting objectivity during the scoring process.
  • Case studies, exercises and problems: tests in which students must solve, in a reasoned manner, within a certain time, and according to the established criteria, the cases, exercises or problems posed by the teaching staff, with the aim of applying the knowledge acquired.
