Competencies

Competencies are the set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be acquired by students throughout the degree, aimed at preparing them for the exercise of professional activities.

In the Degree in Spanish Language and Literature The development by students of the basic skills included in the Spanish Framework for Qualifications for Higher Education (MECES), RD1393/2007, is guaranteed:

Basic skills

BASIC

CB1 – That students have demonstrated possession and understanding of knowledge in an area of study that builds upon general secondary education, and is usually found at a level that, while supported by advanced textbooks, also includes some aspects involving knowledge from the forefront of their field of study

CB2 – That students know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and possess the skills that are usually demonstrated through the development and defense of arguments and the resolution of problems within their area of study

CB3 – That students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (usually within their area of study) to make judgments that include reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues

CB4 – That students can convey information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.

CB5 – That students have developed the learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy

GENERAL

CG1 – Ability to select, evaluate, prioritize and synthesize information into content related to History

CG2 – Ability to use oral and written expression clearly and precisely in content related to History

CG3 – Ability to work independently and in teams on content related to History and in interdisciplinary contexts

CG4 – Ability to read, understand and express in a foreign language (CEFR level B1) content related to historical sciences using the terminology and techniques of the discipline

CG5 – Ability to identify, use and appropriately integrate diverse historical sources (archaeological, documentary, iconographic, bibliographic…)

CG6 – Ability to correctly use ICTs in obtaining and organizing historical information

CG7 – Ability to present content related to History in an argumentative, correct and concise manner.

CG8 – Ability to effectively use ICTs in the presentation and transmission of historical information

CG9 – Ability to take a committed stance on the social and ethical dimension of the problems of study in the current socio-political context.

General skills

CE1 – Acquire a basic knowledge of the main methods, techniques and instruments of analysis in History and use the terminology of the discipline appropriately at an oral and written level

CE2 – Master the concepts, categories, theories, basic diachronic themes and content inherent to historical science

CE3 – Contextualize historical processes and analyze them from a critical perspective

CE4 – Analyze and interpret the archaeological record

CE5 – Identify the main historiographical trends and critically analyze their developments

CE6 – Apply the main methods, techniques and instruments of analysis of the discipline

CE7 – Apply knowledge and analytical skills to solve problems related to your field of study

CE8 – Acquire the techniques specific to archival work and use the specific tools to study documents from different historical periods (paleography, epigraphy, etc.)

CE9 – Ability to manage, conserve, teach, disseminate and generate awareness towards the conservation of historical and cultural heritage

CE10 – Knowledge of the general diachronic structure of the past (Universal History, European History, National History and Local History)

CE11 – Knowledge of the methods and problems of the different branches of historical research (economic, social, political, cultural, gender, etc.)

CE12 – Ability to use transdisciplinary methods and techniques in order to acquire a more complete view of the past

CE14 – Ability to work in companies dedicated to the analysis and management of heritage to carry out documentary, organizational, administrative and dissemination work in the fields of cultural institutions (libraries, archives, museums, etc.)

CE13 – Acquire the basic knowledge that ensures the professional qualification of graduates

CE15 – Demonstration of the competencies, skills and abilities required of any graduate in History through the completion of a tutored work in any of the fields of historical methodology. CG1 Specialized knowledge of the Spanish language at its different levels and its literatures.
