The Study Plan for the Degree in Chemistry at the University of La Laguna has a total of 240 credits according to the distribution shown in the following table, taking into account the subjects of the branch, compulsory and optional subjects, external internships and final degree project.
The following table lists the modules that make up the curriculum of the Degree in Chemistry and within each module, the subjects that comprise it are described.
The curriculum is structured using two levels of grouping: subjects and modules. Subjects that can be conceived in an integrated manner are grouped as subjects; on the other hand, one or more subjects are grouped into modules, which constitute an organisational unit within the curriculum. As can be seen in the table above, modules and subjects coincide throughout the curriculum except for Module 1 of Basic Training.
The distribution of subjects in courses and semesters is shown in the following table:
The subjects have been distributed in 4 courses of 60 credits each, divided into 2 semesters, which include all the theoretical and practical training that students must acquire. This distribution reflects the organization of the teaching offer by the Faculty, having a purely indicative character for the students. The students can take the subjects at the time they consider appropriate and with the distribution they wish, although subject to the limitations of the Regulations of Progress and Permanence of the subject. All subjects offered are four-monthly and worth 6 ECTS, except for two of the electives, which will be annual and worth 9 ECTS, and the Company Internships and the Final Degree Project, which will worth 12 and 15 ECTS, respectively. In the fourth year, in addition to 18 credits of compulsory subjects, 12 credits of External Internships and 15 credits of the Final Degree Project, students must take 15 optional credits, corresponding to two subjects, of 9 and 6 credits each, chosen from the four offered, 2 of 6 ECTS in the first four-month period and 2 annual credits of 9 ECTS.
