Bio-Organic Antonio González
The Antonio González University Institute of Bio-Organic Chemistry (IUBO AG) is a multidisciplinary center initially focused on the research of bioactive natural products. Founded in the 1960s, the Institute addressed the need to study secondary metabolites from marine and terrestrial organisms, providing new sources of unique compounds. Currently, the Institute's research encompasses various areas: organic chemistry, biomedicine, biotechnology, nanomaterials, paleoenvironmental science, and archaeology. Some of its research areas include: bioactive natural products, biopesticide development, microorganism cultivation, design and synthesis of molecules that modulate therapeutic targets, novel synthetic strategies, development of new nanostructured and multifunctional materials, and characterization of biomarkers in archaeological contexts.
