Gender, knowledge and research

April 13, 2011

Within the framework of the International Year of Women in Science, which coincides with the centenary of Marie Curie's Nobel Prize in Chemistry and the International Year of Chemistry, the main objective of this activity is training and awareness-raising on gender, knowledge, and research. Specifically, from an interdisciplinary perspective, analytical frameworks on gender, science, universities, and knowledge construction will be presented and discussed, as well as national and international policies for promoting gender equality in this field. This activity also aims to highlight women researchers in various branches of the University of La Laguna (ULL) and other Canary Islands research institutions, and to explore the gender perspective on their work.
