University Institute for Women's Studies

Who we are

The University Institute for Women's Studies of the ULL (IUEM) was created in 2007, from the former Center for Women's Studies (CEM), created in 1995. The IUEM continues and expands the work, activities and objectives of the former and brings together and accommodates teachers and researchers from the University of La Laguna whose interests are directed towards women's studies and gender theory.

Members

GOALS

  • To conduct and promote research and teach at the postgraduate level in women's studies.
  • To train researchers in women's studies, and to collaborate with the departments of the ULL in teaching activities related to this subject.
  • To contribute to the development of knowledge in gender studies, to disseminate its results, to facilitate access to them and to promote their dissemination to society.
  • To offer advice to public and private institutions and to all decision-making areas where the issue of gender is relevant.
  • To generate a social fabric that is knowledgeable about research from a gender perspective and a cultural dynamic that favors the elimination of inequality.
