Internationalization of
Resume

Curriculum internationalization involves integrating a global dimension into research, teaching, curricula, and academic and extracurricular activities. This approach fosters a borderless education that prepares students for an interconnected world, boosting their capacity for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
Beyond being an indicator of quality, internationally-perspective education is a responsibility of universities to connect the local with the global. In response to this demand, the Vice-Rector's Office promotes initiatives that encourage learning in other languages, employability in international settings, and training in intercultural skills and global citizenship.

Current projects

In collaboration with the Language Service of the University of La Laguna, we held a series of roundtable discussions on the importance of language accreditation as a key to internationalization and academic and professional development, addressing the following from different perspectives:

The importance of language accreditation: A universe of opportunities

On November 19, 2024, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the University of La Laguna's Language Service, the roundtable "The Importance of Language Certification: A Universe of Opportunities" was held. The event brought together experts in the field of language training and certification to analyze the role of languages in academic and professional internationalization.

During the meeting, it was highlighted how accreditation of language skills facilitates participation in mobility programs, improves employability in international markets, and contributes to training in intercultural skills. These aspects are key to building a borderless education and enhancing the global reach of our students and faculty, in line with the objectives of the Vice-Rector's Office for Internationalization and Cooperation.

Artificial intelligence in language teaching

The second roundtable took place on December 17, 2024, dedicated to analyzing the impact of artificial intelligence on language learning. AI is transforming this field by offering more personalized, interactive experiences with immediate feedback. In this session, we debated whether we are facing a new era in language teaching, explored the opportunities offered by integrating AI into the classroom, and reflected on the associated challenges and risks, such as the digital divide and ethical issues. We also addressed key questions: What changes will AI bring to the classroom? Will language teachers still be needed?
