Living Labs are experimental spaces in real-world environments that foster co-creation, multi-stakeholder participation, and interactive learning to develop innovative solutions. Their objective is to identify needs and opportunities across diverse sectors, promote collaboration among universities, businesses, government agencies, and civil society, and drive innovation, sustainable regional development, knowledge transfer, and technology. Living Labs also support curriculum modernization, continuing education, and the creation of applied research projects aligned with societal challenges and the objectives of the alliance's Technology Transfer Initiatives (TIGs).

FutureLab is much more than just an exchange program; it's an immersive experience that combines international collaboration, technological innovation, and social impact. During an intensive week in France, followed by four months of remote collaboration, you'll work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams on specific projects proposed by our partners.

Marie and Louis Pasteur University (UMLP) organized the second edition in 2026 of the FutureLab of the European Alliance STARS EU, an exceptional hybrid intensive program that allowed participants to experience an unforgettable academic and human adventure.

STARS EU aims to support regional transitions so that they have a positive impact on societal well-being through interdisciplinary and interregional cooperation. To this end, the Regional Transition Accelerator (RTA). The RTA plays an important role in engaging the alliance's regional ecosystems in promoting interregional education, research and innovation activities related to their smart specialisation strategies and STARS EU priority areas at the regional and interregional levels.
By engaging regional stakeholders in the Living Labs, the FutureLab, and other academic activities, the interregional co-creation ecosystem STARS EU strives to achieve a positive and sustainable regional impact.
