STARS EU presents itself as a strategic framework to promote joint research both regionally and within the broader context of the European Union. Through its Challenge Lab, it seeks not only to generate academic impact but also to transform sectors and industries by fostering meaningful collaboration with key stakeholders in society.
To successfully meet future demands and needs in different areas, it is essential to promote applied research in order to facilitate their digitization and sustainability, as well as their resilience.
This is made possible by establishing a collaborative and active research model between the alliance universities, students and regional partners, which is catalyzed through the Thematic Interest Groups (TIGs) of the STARS EU alliance.
What do we offer?
The European Alliance of Universities STARS EU has created its own Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (K&TTO) to offer its regions of influence and all productive sectors one of the most comprehensive technology catalogues in the EU.
STARS EU K&TTO provides R&D services, development of technological solutions, technical consulting, training, support for entrepreneurs and collaboration on innovative projects, combining the experience of its nine partner universities.

STARS EU aims to foster the creation of multidisciplinary, inter-university, and multi-sectoral knowledge by bringing together researchers, students, businesses, and social actors to address societal challenges. To this end, it organizes STARS Talks, monthly open seminars that facilitate knowledge sharing, discussions of regional initiatives, and the promotion of the green and digital transitions, as well as the values of the European Union (EU).

STARS EU brings together the research excellence of nine European universities to address societal challenges through a multidisciplinary, inter-university, and multi-sectoral model that includes researchers, students, businesses, and social actors. Its Challenge Lab and Thematic Interest Groups (TIGs) develop innovative solutions, foster knowledge and technology transfer, and support the training of researchers and students in key areas such as the green and digital transitions. Furthermore, STARS EU ensures that research results are publicly available to promote open science, knowledge transfer, and the socio-economic impact of its projects.
STARS EU offers up to €3,000 per researcher to cover expenses related to the preparation of research and innovation project proposals, including consortium meetings, external consultancy services, review and visual support of the application.
