Access, admission and registration

Access

Admission is the set of requirements necessary to pursue university studies. Compliance with these requirements is prior to admission to the courses to be pursued.

They will be able to access the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology at the ULL, which qualifies them to practice the titled and regulated health profession. General Health Psychologist, Those who meet the following requirements, regulated by Order ECD/1070/2013, BOC 14 June:

Possess any of the following official university degrees:
- Degree in Psychology.
- Bachelor of Psychology, obtained under previous university education systems.

Hold a recognized foreign higher education degree or equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. In the case of master's degrees that qualify for regulated professions, the degree granting access to the master's degree must be recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MECD) at the time of submitting the pre-registration application.
Proof of complementary healthcare training (90 ECTS): Proof of complementary training guaranteeing that the applicant has previously obtained at least 90 ECTS credits specifically related to healthcare is an essential requirement for admission to the master's degree, in accordance with Order ECD/1070/2013. In addition, the University of La Laguna, in compliance with the provisions of Decree 168/2008, of July 22 (Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 154, of August 1), establishes that in order to access this master's degree, it will be an essential requirement to prove a B1 level of English. Criteria for validating health training

Students who hold the following qualifications will be able to access the studies leading to the Master's degree in General Health Psychology, which qualifies them to practice the regulated and certified health profession of General Health Psychologist:

Official university degree in Psychology or other expressly declared equivalent.
Official University Degree in Psychology obtained in accordance with previous university education systems.
Foreign higher education qualifications recognized or equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish Bachelor's degrees in Psychology.

In some exceptional circumstances, some applicants will require additional training to ensure that the applicant has obtained at least 90 ECTS credits of a specific health-related nature (Order ECD/1070/2013, BOC 14 June).

According to order ECD/1070/2013, the criteria used to validate the 90 health credits prior to the completion of the Master's degree will be the following:

For graduates in Psychology, the following will be validated as health credits:

Basic subjects of the Health Sciences Branch
Subjects related to Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment and Psychobiology
Itineraries, mentions or optional subjects qualified by their connection to Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology or Sanitary Psychology.
Practicum, where applicable
TFG carried out in the field of Clinical, Health or Sanitary Psychology
Subjects related to Psychological Processes and Methodology that enable the acquisition of skills prior to or complementary to those defined in section 2b of the Annex of Order ECD/1070/2013, of June 12

For graduates in Psychology, the following will be validated as health credits:

Subjects related to Personality, Psychological Assessment and Treatment and Psychobiology
Specialties, itineraries, intracurricular options or elective subjects in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology or Healthcare Psychology.
Practicum in the areas related to Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology
Although the subjects related to Psychological Processes and Methodology are not specifically health subjects, they may be subject to recognition if they enable the acquisition of the previous or complementary competences to those defined in section 2b of the Annex of order ECD/1070/2013, of June 12.

In addition, credits for complementary training obtained in postgraduate training that meet the requirements established in Law 5/2011, of March 29, on the Social Economy may be considered.

Accreditation of the 90 health credits will be an essential requirement for admission to the master's degree.

Likewise, in compliance with the provisions of Decree 168/2008, of July 22 (Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 154, of August 1), proficiency in a foreign language equivalent to level B1 of English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages must be accredited.

Students who meet the academic requirements may access the Master's Degree, in accordance with the procedure established for this purpose by the regulations of the University of La Laguna (ULL). Students must attach all official documents that prove the profile required for access, their academic record and other curriculum vitae, through which they will be evaluated for possible admission to the Master's Degree according to criteria of equality, merit and ability.

Admission

Admission is the allocation of places offered by the ULL to study official university courses among those who, fulfilling the access requirements indicated above (Graduate/Bachelor of Psychology and/or approved foreign qualification, complementary health-related training and B1 level of English), have requested them.

Admission is carried out through the procedure established for this purpose in the ULL Regulations. The student must attach all official documents that prove the profile required for access, his/her academic record and his/her curriculum vitae, through which he/she will be evaluated for admission to the master's degree according to criteria of equality, merit and capacity.

The body responsible for admission that will evaluate the applications will be the Academic Committee of the degree, whose composition is determined in article 30 of the Regulations for Official Master's Degree Courses at the University of La LagunaArticle 31 of the aforementioned regulation states that the proposal for admission of students is one of the functions of the Academic Commission.

For the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology, the following specific criteria apply and will be considered in the admission phase:

Overall academic qualification (maximum) 6 points).
Other merits (professional experience related to the degree, scholarships and awards related to the degree, other related qualifications), maximum4 points.
- Professional experience related to the degree will be understood as the practice of the profession in relation to clinical and health psychology, both in the health field and in the independent practice of the profession. This experience will be accredited through employment contracts or with accreditation of registration as self-employed for the independent practice of the profession. This experience will be valued with 1 peak point after one year of professional experience.
- Scholarships and awards correspond to scholarships for postgraduates (FPU, FPI type, scholarships from autonomous communities, etc.), and awards related to the academic record (extraordinary award, national awards, etc.). This section will be assessed with 1 maximum point that can be obtained by being in possession of one of these scholarships or awards.
- Related qualifications will be understood as being in possession of a degree or licentiate within the field of health sciences corresponding to the degrees, diplomas and degrees in Medicine, Nursing and Speech Therapy or others expressly declared equivalent to those mentioned. Also considered as related qualifications will be having completed an official master's degree in the field of clinical and health psychology or a specific degree in that same field. The maximum score for related qualifications will be 2 points, which can be obtained for holding one of these qualifications, except in the case of own degrees. In this case, the academic committee will assess the points to be awarded, in accordance with the study plan for that degree.

Pre-registration and enrollment

Enrolment is the formal instrument through which one acquires the status of university student. Before enrolling, students who wish to take the Master's degree must meet the entry requirements and have obtained a place through the admission process.
