Establishment of a system for quality assurance of medicines used in the treatment of AIDS and neglected tropical diseases (ISACAM)

The project will develop a system for ensuring the quality of medicines used in the treatment of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria by equipping a reference laboratory at the IUETSP of the ULL (University of La Laguna) with the capacity to perform advanced analyses in accordance with international regulatory standards. The aim is to detect the presence and frequency of substandard medicines, as defined by WHO criteria, used to treat these diseases in Mauritania. The project will also train qualified personnel in the Canary Islands and Mauritania and provide the LNCQM (National Laboratory for Quality Management) with the basic equipment to begin prequalification in this field.
