Research and innovation towards excellence in technological efficiency, use of renewable energies, emerging technologies and circular economy in desalination (E5DES)

E5DES presents six strategic R&D&I lines in desalination and initiatives to implement a roadmap that will increase the visibility and international recognition of desalination, transform participating regions into hubs for knowledge production and innovation, and establish them as ideal geographic spaces for testing, verification, and technological innovation. It proposes to execute the planned R&D activities of the DESAL+ LIVING LAB.

1. Increase international recognition of the R&D&I services brand and increase collaborations with other Research Centers and Companies.
2. Increase and concentrate the efforts of researchers in the production of innovative solutions for desalination efficiency and direct use of renewable energies, circular economy in accordance with the priorities of RIS3 and Blue Growth-EU.
3. Generate new knowledge and technological innovation in water quality and the water-energy nexus.
