Research into the theoretical foundations of economics, the use and development of quantitative methods, and their empirical application to a wide variety of economic problems. The study of the behavior of individuals, households, and firms, their interaction with institutions as determined by various local, national, and international regulations, and the resulting consequences at both the individual and collective levels. Economic disciplines encompass Economic Theory (subdivided into Microeconomics and Macroeconomics), Financial Economics, Business Economics, Accounting, Economic History, and Quantitative Economics, including Theoretical Econometrics and Applied Economics.
