Method and camera for real-time acquisition of visual information of three-dimensional scenes, characterized by: a microlens array that forms the image on a detector surface, of sufficient resolution, which is placed in a position of the image space of a converging lens, and by a parallel computing processor to perform image processing, calculating the focal stack associated with the object volume measured by the camera, and on this, the complex amplitude of the electromagnetic field (modulus and phase) and the distance at any position of the measured object space.

Competitive advantage

Following this procedure it is possible to recover both depths and modules and phases of the complex amplitude of the wavefront at each position of the surfaces of the scene, which allows the scene to be scanned three-dimensionally and in real time.
