Electrocatalysts for low-temperature fuel cells

Sciences

The present invention provides a process for preparing carbon nanospirals, which are used to manufacture an electrocatalyst supported on said carbon nanospirals (CNC). This electrocatalyst, in turn, is used to manufacture low-temperature fuel cells (polymer electrolyte or direct alcohol fuel cells).

Competitive advantage

The graphitic nature of these materials gives them electronic properties that make them suitable for use as a support for metallic catalysts.
