Copper electrodes for gaseous CO2 fixation and methods for their preparation and operation

Engineering and Architecture

The invention comprises nanostructured DHP polycrystalline copper electrodes, a method for their manufacture, and a method for CO2 fixation, generating 1- or 2-carbon products. It proposes a solution for reducing global carbon dioxide emissions by using nanostructured copper to produce organic compounds.

Competitive advantage

– The invention allows obtaining specific organic compounds, without the presence of byproducts such as carbon monoxide.
