The invention describes a pressure-measuring piston for 3D printing platforms applicable to various 3D printing fields (tissue bioprinting, food industry, pharmaceuticals, ceramics). Its usefulness lies in its ability to continuously monitor the pressure applied throughout the printing process, thanks to the piston's instrumentation. This allows for improved quality by enabling corrective actions to be taken during the process. Using a strain gauge, the pressure exerted by the printing platform component on the piston, and therefore on the material being extruded, is measured.
– Its continuous control allows characterization of the semi-solid mass being printed, making it possible to establish the most suitable printing parameters on site, and even to fully automate the process.
